Seasonal Sewing Workshops

Animal Bags: 

Thurs., March 6, 13 & 20 ~ 5:45pm - 8:00pm

Walk on the wild side with one of these adorable bags! Create a dog, cat, fox or owl bag to carry all your goodies and necessities. In this course you'll work with an array of fabrics, create pockets and stich and array of shapes. This is a great course to take your pattern and sewing skills to the next level. 

Course Cost: $175  + $15 pattern fee. A small list of supplies needed will be sent one week before the course. Instructor: Heather Rourke Prerequisite:  Sewing 101  or equivalent experience.

Tote Bags

Mon., March 24 & 31 ~ 5:45pm - 8:00pm

Who doesn't need more bags ~ or handmade holiday gifts!?! By utilizing medium weight fabrics students will create the perfect sized tote bag for the farmers market, beach, groceries or everyday everyday use. You'll leave with a beautiful bag AND learn how to attach magnetic snaps, create two internal pockets, boxed corners and more! These also make fantastic gifts!

Course Cost: $120 + a small supply list will be sent a week before class.  Instructor: Carrie Tino Prerequisite: Sewing 100  or equivalent experience

Huge Donut Pillows

Sat., March 29th ~ 2:30pm - 5:30pm

Oh My Goodness these doughnuts are huge and so fun! Work with a variety of fabrics like lightweight upholstery, cottons, flannels and felt to create colorful doughnuts complete with frosting and sprinkles. Working in 3-d provides the opportunity to learn new skills and we'll also expand on our topstitching and hand stitching.

Embroidered Pouches:

Mon., April 7, 14 & 21 ~ 5:45pm - 7:45pm  

Learn the basics of hand embroidery while creating this very sweet and useful pouch.  This in depth beginners course will teach you several of the most popular hand embroidery stitches, how to begin and end your pieces, what floss and supplies are needed and which are the best for your projects. Students will also be provided with resources and practice sheets. There may be up to 2 hours of homework between classes to ensure completion.

Course Cost: $139 + $20 material fee  A small list of supplies needed will be sent one week before the course. Instructor: Kerry Snyder Prerequisite: Sewing 100  or equivalent experience.

Doggie Leashes & Collars

Sat., April 26th ~ 2:30pm - 5:30pm

Calling all Doggie lovers ….. could anything be better than spending time creating personalized pieces for your pooch!?! In this workshop you'll learn to make your very own durable and professional looking collar and leash. If time allows we'll also discuss how to make bandannas. The possibilities are endless! Just think … of all those holiday inspired or seasonal color sets! For small. medium or large dogs.

Embroidered  Messenger Bags

Sat., May 17, 31, June 7 & 14 ~ 10:30am - 12:30pm

These nature inspired messenger bags are the perfect size to carry your items and so comfortable with its adjustable strap! Learn an array of hand stitching techniques to create the front panel embroidered designs. Then use your machines to construct the bag complete with pockets, snap and adjustable strap for cross-body or over the shoulder

Mesh Bottom Tote Bags

Fri.  June 13, 20 & 27th ~ 5:45pm - 8:00pm

Sunkissed cheeks and bare feet... ahh don't you just love the warm weather?! We love this Bag Design and the thought of sporting it to the market, pool and beach this summer! Create your very own washable bag complete with six pockets for all your goodies! Work with cotton canvas and mesh that will enable all those crumbs and that sand to fall right out the bottom and not in the back seat of your car!

Zipper Mittens & Cowls

This seasonal workshop combines the best of two worlds ~ zippers and accessories. Create a cozy cowl and warm mittens complete with an invisible zipper pocket in both to stash items like  credit cards, license, money, chap stick and more!. 

Faux Leather Bags: 

This bag design is stunning and that's why it's our new "favorite bags"!  Students will learn several new skills in this course and work with a variety of fabrics from leather, to faux leather to canvas. This bag has a magnetic snap closure, internal fully lined zipper pocket, external fully lined zipper pocket and a soft curved shape. With plenty of storage and an elegant shape this could end up being your favorite bag!

Upscale all those big candy bags you've stockpiled in preparation for Halloween. Create super fun clutches in various sizes, complete with zipper and lining.  Not only are these durable but they're unique and may just provide you with the you perfect excuse to buy just one more bag of candy! :)

Funky Felted Mittens

We're at it again with our most popular seasonal workshop ~ Funky Felted Mittens. If you want the most warm, creative, personally designed mittens for yourself or family and friends then this workshop is a must! Leave with templates and the skills to make more. All mittens will be stitched on sewing machines and will be pre-felted using the washer and dryer. 

Fabric Pumpkins 

Decorate your home, office or RV with adorable handmade pumpkins in fabric of your choosing! Learn two different ways to create the pumpkins without even having to use a sewing machine! Three sizes will be available and what you learn in class will enable you to make more on your own! 

Zipper Clutches and Change Purses:

Who wouldn't want their very own personalized clutch and change purse!? These are great to keep for yourself or make as gifts! In this course you will learn one way of sewing with zippers, how to select the correct length, shorten them, create new zipper stops, make boxed corners and more! These are great to keep for yourself or make as gifts! You’ll be provided with dozens of fabric and zipper options. Both projects can have equally as pretty and fun linings and zipper closures as the outside fabric, to make them extra cute! 

Short Brim Hats

Don't you just love the thought of making your own hat!!  These short brim hats are such a great accessory  and can be made from fabrics like; denim, corduroy, tweed, medium weight cottons and more! The holidays will be here soon~  stitch on up for yourself or as gifts this holiday season. 

Doggie Jackets

Show your fur babies how much you love them by coming home with a custom designed doggie jacket just for them! Work with a pattern to create a small, medium or large doggie jacket complete with lining, Velcro and slit to run a leash through!
