Do you want to learn to sew your own clothing and create really cool, well fitted pieces? Well you can in our Apparel Courses ! Over the course of a year we offer different projects from skirts to pajamas to jackets. These classes aim to demystify and simplify clothing patterns while creating a garment with your own personal touch and style. * Please note projects will be made for the size of the person attending course. *

Goals Of Our Apparel Courses:

  • Learn how to read a store bought clothing pattern
  • Learn how to select a store bought pattern for your size
  • Learn how to fit the pattern to your size and make adjustments
  • Learn the pattern placement and grain-line positioning 
  • Gain experience with the terminology used in clothing patterns
  • Gain experience working with three dimensional projects
  • Discuss finishing techniques like; surged edges, facing, top stitching and more
  • Discuss why the grain is so important when it comes to clothing construction

Leave With:

  • A pattern
  • Finished project
  • List of sewing terminology
  • List of over 50 local fabric stores
  • Information and visuals regarding different needles and when to use them
  • General information on basic sewing supplies and sewing machines

Course Cost: $155 + $13 supply fee brought to the first class in the form of cash or check is applied toward pattern and supplies. It does not cover the cost of fabric or notions. In our first class we will discuss what fabric and notions you will need to bring to your second class. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine or borrow one from the studio for a onetime $10 fee.

Prerequisite: Sewing 100  & Sewing Patterns 101  or equivalent experience
