Clothing Classes
Do you want to learn to sew your own clothing and create really cool, well fitted pieces? Well you can in our Clothing Classes ! Whether you’re interested in fashion design, clothing construction or sewing your own clothing, these courses will provide you with a solid foundation in technique and assist with helping you develop your own aesthetic. With any array of supplied patterns and clothing classes offered students have the opportunity to gain experience with a variety of fabrics like sheer, stretch, knits and more!
These courses build on the skills learned in our lower level courses. Please note prerequisites for each class below. During our first class we will discuss what fabric and notions are needed and you'll bring that with you to our second class.
* Please note: To help the classes run more smoothly we ask that all students try their best to attend all their classes in the session and complete assigned homework. All our Clothing Courses require 1 -2 hours of homework between each class.
All Courses Will Cover:
- How to read a store bought clothing pattern
- How to select a store bought pattern for your size
- Learn how to then fit the pattern to your size and make adjustments
- Terminology used in clothing patterns
- Gain experience working with three dimensional project
- Discuss weight loss and gain wardrobe adjustment
- Finishing techniques like; hemming, surged edges, facing, top stitching and more

Zipper Vests
Wed., October 30, Nov. 6, 13, 20 & 27 ~ 5:45pm - 7:45pm
We're so excited to be offering this Zipper Vest course that will expand on skills learned in prior clothing classes and teach students how to create pockets, add a zipper front and work with binding to finish their garments nicely. Select lightweight or heavy weight fabrics to create your vest for the season you'd like to wear in the most. This is a great opportunity to work with stable fabrics like wool, wool blends, polyester, corduroy and denim.

Knit Tops
Hoodies
Fri., Dec., 13, 20, 27, Jan. 3 & 10 ~ 5:45pm -7:45pm
These cozy and stylish hoodies will be a great addition to your cool weather wardrobe! Work with soft fabrics like flannel, fleece, knits and cotton blends while learning how to create hoods, pockets and ribbed cuffs.
Course Cost: $225 + $15 pattern and supply fee. This does not cover the cost of fabric or notions. A small list of supplies needed will be sent one week before class. Winter Jackets
Tues., Jan. 7, 14, 21, Feb. 4 & 11 ~ 5:45pm - 8:00pm
A New England winter is the perfect time to show off your very own custom jacket! In this course students will have the opportunity to work with an array of fabric to create a long, mid or short jacket. This design has a zipper front, hood, pockets and provides the opportunity to expand tailoring and finishing skills.

Cozy Sweaters
Thurs., Feb. 6, 13, 20 & 27 ~ 5:45pm - 7:45pm
Work with chunky and cozy knits to create your new favorite sweater! In this course students will learn to create a cowl neck line, finished seams and have the option to create a sweater with various sleeve and hem lengths.

Wide Legged Pants

Enhance your clothing pattern skills while learning how to work with light-weight materials like denim, linen, laundered cottons and more! Students will create side pockets, utilize top-stitching and elastic to give a finished, fitted professional look.

These relaxed fit pants are great for walking, wearing to the gym, for yoga or out and about. Choose from lightweight fabrics like stable knits, linen or gauze to create a pant that fits and is flattering. Made with an elastic waist for comfort, two side pockets these make for a great relaxed pant.
Shift Dresses & Shirts
We love the easy nature of these adorable shirts and dresses. The A-line design is flattering for all shapes and sizes and the tie back makes for a comfortable fit. Choose from stable fabrics to create a dress that is perfect to wear gardening, running errands, as a beach cover up or just relaxing. With this design you will learn how to add bias tape to finish all the hems, choose to include pockets or not, it can be made in a variety of lengths and can also be made as a shirt.
Casual Dresses
Our Casual Dresses course will teach students how to install an invisible zipper, create a well fitted dress, stitch facings and more! Students can choose the sleeve length and dress length. We'll utilize non-stretch fabrics like linen, denim, rayon and silky prints while learning the appropriate techniques for the fabric chosen.
Level 3 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of any 2 Clothing Courses or equivalent experience.
Maxi Skirts
Our Maxi Skirt course is perfect for those who want to learn to work with clothing patterns with out the longer commitment. Participants will choose from three different maxi skirt options with various lengths. You'll work with various stretch fabrics while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.

Wrap Skirts
Level 1 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of Sewing 101 or equivalent experience.
The Perfect Blazer
These blazers look stunning on all body types and ages! By utilizing princess lines you'll create a beautiful silhouette with a more tailored fit! Depending on the fabric you select you can create a more formal or casual jacket for any season. You'll add pockets, collars and you have a choice for sleeve length and design.
Level 3 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of any 2 Clothing Courses or equivalent experience.
Sweater Jackets
In our Sweater Jackets Course students will learn to make either long or sleeveless jacket and have the option for various lengths. We'll cover fit, fabric, needle selection, how to create pockets, set a sleeve. finishing details and so much more! Learn how to sew with an array of fabrics from wool blends, to tweeds to flannel and fleece.
Level 1 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of Sewing 101 or equivalent experience.
Wraps / Ponchos
In.our Wraps/Ponchos course students will work from the same pattern to create a wrap that fits their style and size. Wraps can have various lengths and be sewn closed, incorporate button closures or toggles. This is a great opportunity to work with double faced fabrics, chunky or smooth weaves and various other soft, warm materials.
Level 1 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of Sewing 101 or equivalent experience.
Bomber Jackets
There's nothing cooler than sporting your own custom made jacket during those cooler months! :) In this course students will work from a unisex pattern to create a bomber jacket complete with front zipper, side pockets and lining.
Level 3 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of any 2 Clothing Courses or equivalent experience.
Pajama Bottoms
In our Pajama Bottoms Course students will learn to make either long or short pajama bottoms with elastic waist. We'll cover fit, fabric, needle selection, how to create casings for elastic, finishing details and so much more! Learn how to sew with an array of fabrics from laundered cottons to fleece to knits.
Level 1 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of Sewing 101 or equivalent experience.
Summer Dresses
These summer dresses are perfect for wearing out and about on those summer days and also make great cover-ups for the beach. Learn to create neck and arm facings, French seams and narrow hems while working with lightweight fabrics like linen, soft cottons and silky prints.
Midweight Jackets
Learn to create a stunning, fully lined jacket, complete with side pockets and a full length invisible zipper closure! Princess lines give impeccable shape to while providing two coat length options; short or long. The collar doubles as a hood and fabric choose can determine whether you sport this jacket to more formal or casual events! This is a great opportunity to work with an array of fabrics like wools, wool blends, wovens, brocades and more!
Level 3 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of any 3 Clothing Courses or equivalent experience.
Wrap Dresses
Our Wrap Dresses course is perfect for those who want to learn to work with clothing patterns and leave with a great dress! Participants can choose from six different wrap dress styles with various necklines, dress and arm lengths. This is a great opportunity to work with a variety of materials while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.
Level 2 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of any Level 1 Clothing Course or equivalent experience.
Spring Shirts
Work with light to medium weight knits in our Spring Shirts Course. Students will have several shirt styles to choose from and can select between long or mid length sleeves, cowl or tee-shirt neckline and various hems. This is a great opportunity to work with lightweight, smooth, soft knits while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.

Winter Sweaters
In our Winter Sweaters Course students will have a total of six styles to choose from to create long sleeve or wrap sweaters, fitted or loose with various necklines and lengths. This is a great opportunity to work with chunky or smooth knits and various other soft, warm materials while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.
Level 2 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of any Level 1 Clothing Course or equivalent experience.
Fall Shirts
In our Fall Shirts course students will have several shirts to choose from to create long or short sleeve shirts, fitted or loose with various necklines and lengths. This is a great opportunity to work with chunky or smooth knits and various other soft, warm materials while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.
Level 2 Clothing Course: Prerequisite: Completion of any Level 1 Clothing Course or equivalent experience.
Fall Skirts
In our Fall Skirts course students will work from one pattern to create either a long, mid-length or short skirt. In addition to all the points above students will also learn how to install an invisible zipper for their skirt. This is a great opportunity to work with heavier weight fabrics like denim, corduroy, wool and more!

This beginner clothing course will teach students how to create a double sided basic wrap skirt. By utilizing fabrics like linen, gauze, denim or other cotton blends students will leave with a lightweight. well fitted, flowy skirt. We will learn how to create a tie waist and also learn to sew bias tape as a finishing detail for the skirts.
