Our Adult Creative Arts Workshops provide a great opportunity for those 18 and older to enjoy the studio for an afternoon, learn new skills, have fun, come with friends or meet new ones and best of all leave with a new piece of art!

We have the pleasure of working with several artists in the community as well as our own in house instructors. Our workshops are always changing and depending on the season you can find art classes like cake decorating, glass etching, painting, knitting, paper crafts, mosaics and decoupage to name a few! Doors open 10 minutes before your scheduled class. Please bring your material fee in the form of cash or check to your workshop.

Decorative Seasonal Stars

Sat., Nov. 23rd ~ 2:30pm - 5:00pm

We are so excited to for this new seasonal workshop! Join us for an afternoon of creating the most lovely star decorations for your home or to create as gifts! We'll create two different star designs that you can make in a variety of sizes as small as about 2" x 2" to about 18" x 18". These can be created using holiday inspired paper for the upcoming season or in prints and colors suitable for year round decoration. Decorate your house with them, add them to presents or decorate your Christmas Trees with them.

Holiday Miniatures

Sat., Dec. 14th ~ 3pm - 5:30pm

Oh My! A Tiny Christmas Tree that lights up and a teeny fireplace that glows! Welcome to the teeny tiny world of miniatures! This Holiday Inspired workshop will introduce you to the world of miniatures helping you explore the possibilities of this micro craft. You’ll learn some helpful tips & tricks to get you started and create your own fully decorated miniature Holiday Inspired corner at a 1/24 scale (yup! It’s super tiny!). Best part, you’ll learn how to customize your kit to better fit your personal style! You’ll be provided all of the tools and notions needed to create a cozy corner with tree, lights. wallpaper, fireplace, cards, holiday decor and more!

Hand Knitting

Sat. Jan. 4th ~ 2:30pm - 5:30pm

During this workshop you will be guided through the process of hand knitting your very own super coxy throw blanket! If you've tried needle knitting and just didn't have luck or just want to try something new this creative and relaxing workshop could be perfect. Within a short amount of time you'll be knitting up a storm - by utilizing just your hands and writs! No knitting experience or needles needed! Blanket will be about 40 x 60.

In this introductory crochet workshop students don't need any prior experience. Lori will guide you through the tools, supplies and two stitches used in crochet.

We love this workshop! Etched glasses are SO fun to make! They such unique gifts and make drinking any beverage even more enjoyable! Join us to create your very own etched glasses. Learn tips and tricks as well as the best supplies to use to to create your glasses. Students will also have the option to add in glass paints for extra details. Beginner Weaving

We're so excited to have fiber artist, Lori Murphy at the studio again this fall for her beginner Tapestry Weaving Workshop. In this workshop students will learn the basics of weaving; including how to wrap a loom, do basic weaves, how to remove your wall hanging and mount it to a dowel for hanging. By combining these techniques, your imagination and beautiful yarns, students will leave with a lovely miniature wall hanging of their own.

Lori started her fiber journey several years ago while healing from surgery and house-bound. In addition to enjoying sewing, crochet and spinning yarn, weaving provided her with another creative outlet. She found this craft to be enjoyable and is excited to share her knowledge and passion for weaving with us!

Fall Decoupage Pumpkins

Join us for a morning of mulled cider and seasonal cheer creating lovely fall inspired pumpkins. Choose from a couple different pumpkin shapes and several designs to decorate two pumpkins that will last for seasons to come! Learn the fun craft of decoupage and all the tips and tricks that you can implement to create your pumpkin.

Ease Anxiety In An Afternoon

Less sunlight, cooler weather, different schedules, and approaching holidays. Fall is filled with change. Any change (even positive) can be a source of stress, which is a common trigger for increased anxiety, OCD, and even some phobias. Decorate your home, office or RV with adorable handmade pumpkins in fabric of your choosing! Learn two different ways to create the pumpkins without even having to use a sewing machine! Three sizes will be available and what you learn in class will enable you to make more on your own!

Fall Inspired Candles::

Join us for a morning of mulled cider and some seasonal creativity. Warm up your home or office with lovely, fall inspired candles. Choose from hundreds of locally foraged leaves and flora to decorate two plain white wax candles. Weather permitting, we'll spend time outdoors foraging for additional treasures. :) You'll also learn tips and tricks for properly pressing, drying and storing organic matter for future projects

Sewing, Flower & Flora Frames

Spend the afternoon learning the tips and tricks of working with flowers, flora and sewing supplies to create these visually dynamic frames. You'll work with real flowers and flora Mikala has grown in her gardens and learn the process of drying, arranging, setting and so much more! A variety of flowers, fauna and sewing related supplies will be provided. This wall art is five frames in one and measure about 20"x20".

Flower Infused Bath Bars & Lip Balms:

Join us for a relaxing and inspiring evening learning how to make homemade bath bars and lip balms! We’ll walk you through how to create soothing soaps as well as gentle lip balms using natural ingredients and essential oils. Packaging, paper, markers and ribbons will be available to then wrap and decorate your pieces.

Greenhouse Miniatures:

No green thumbs necessary! Create your very own miniature greenhouse equipped with everything you need to make your tiny plant dreams come true (and no weekly watering required). This 1:24 scale kit includes all the supplies needed to create a work table planting station, potted plants, tools, a plant shelf, a stool and more! Students will get to customize the wallpaper, pots, and plants to make it feel unique to them. And the best part, each kit will have a custom door sign with your name on it! Happy planting!

Chair Whimsy

Spend the afternoon creating, laughing and learning while Mikala walks you through basic chair restoration. We'll discuss the best sandpaper tools and grit, the proper way to sand and how to refinish with paint or stain. Then move on to learning how to restore the seat cushion and bring from drab to fab with new fabric of your choice. Chairs and some of the supplies will be provided for the additional fee and students are welcome to bring their own cotton fabric. *Please note: Several styles of chairs similar to the one pictured above (in that they will be wooden and similar to dinning room chairs) will be provided. Rock Family & Friends

Join us for a delightful afternoon capturing your friends, family and/or pets in a beautiful shadow box! We are so excited to have Alana Almonte, owner of Anchored Soul teaching us how to create art from rocks, driftwood, twigs and shells. Alana forages and hand picks most of her supplies from the Rhode Island beaches, making each piece unique and special in its own way. Let your imagination run wild while Alana guides with tips and tricks, placement, design and concept. Include butterflies, pets, angels, trees, hearts people and more in a 9 x 9 grey famed shadow box.

What sewist or crafter wouldn't want a little version of their creative room!?! This workshop will introduce you to the world of miniatures helping you to explore the possibilities of this micro craft. Felted Gnomes

These adorable gnomes are just waiting to come alive! Join us for a delightful afternoon learning to needle felt while creating one of these cuties. Needle felting is the art of painting or sculpting with wool. In this workshop students will be introduced to the art of needle felting, its tools, materials and potentials. Students will create their own gnome sculpture and through the process, learn to shape this versatile fiber into a work of art!

Signs of the Season, Painted Pallets

This is one of our most popular Seasonal Art Workshops and for good reason! These pallets are so fun to create and look great once completed. Utilize seasonal stencils like snowflakes, snow covered trees and seasonal quotes! Take the skills you learn in class to make countless others for decorations or for those on your Holiday Gift List! Custom stencils, an array of paint colors, wood signs and all other supplies will be provided. Seasonal Fabric Pumpkins

Happy Fall Y'all! Join us for this seasonal workshop and create your very own multidimensional stamped fabric! Work with an array of fall inspired stencils to create designs that can then be turned into pillows, bags, table runners & more! Participants will learn the best ways to use stencils, spray paint, acrylics & an array of paint brushes to achieve these fun fall looks! Woodland Trays:

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon creating whimsical worlds. Drift away to a magical world filled with fairies, colorful mushrooms, butterflies and the most lovely flower and fauna. Mimicking water colors, these stickers are elegant and full of detail. We'll begin painting our trays and learn how to trim and overlay to create a flawless spring or fall scene. We will then apply a finish to seal all our work making the tray waterproof and ready to display on a bookshelf, use for tea or to place books upon. All supplies including two different sized trays will be provided.

Creatively Quiet The Chaos

Leave your stress at the door as you step into an afternoon dedicated to quieting the chaos that often distracts, overwhelms and gets us stuck. This workshop will begin with a lively presentation which inspires emotional wellness, insight into the importance of self care and shares the benefits of lightness and levity in our daily lives. Then we'll roll up our sleeves for the hands-on collage/scrapbook style portion of the workshop. Enjoy using a variety of supplies as you set up your own journal template that encourages organizing thoughts, to do lists and daydreams. This class will be a welcoming and relaxing opportunity to recharge, giggle and discover how you can Creatively Quiet The Chaos in your life!

Cricut For Beginners

Are you ready to dive into the world of Cricut but don’t know where to start? This workshop will provide a beginners look at the Cricut cutting machine and Cricut Design Space. This is for those who: are thinking of buying a Cricut but want to try it out before making the commitment and for those who have one but have never used it. With a full overview of the software and its various uses, we will use the knowledge to make a beginner project and leave with the skills to continue diving into the creative world a Cricut machine offers.

Woodburing

Wood Burning, Holiday Ornaments

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...to create your very own wood burned ornaments! In this workshop you'll learn the basics of wood burning, how to prepare the wood, color and more! You'll make 2 - 3 ornaments that will look festival on a tree, wreath or gift box. Several templates will be provided that you can choose from when learning how to transfer it to the wood. After this workshop you'll have the skills to make your own personalized wooden decorations and gifts.

Beginner Crochet:

In this beginner crochet workshop you will learn chain, single and double stitches and how to read a pattern. Using stitches learned students will start to make a lovely scarf from supplies provided, which will be taken home to work on a little before their second class. Patterns, informational sheets on crochet terms, yarn types, hooks and other little tips that can help you along your crochet journey will be provided. This two session workshop aims to provide a strong foundation and will be helpful in learning new stitches and more complex patterns.

Expressive Deco Trays

Decoupaging is the craft of decorating objects like wooden furniture, paper-mache boxes, bowls, vases and more! By using a wide variety of light weight paper, and tissue paper students will create a decorative sewing and/or art inspired tray. Each layer is sealed with multiple coats until the “stuck on” appearance disappears and the result looks like painting or inlay work. All supplies will be provided but you're welcome to bring along additional trim, ribbon, rick rack, buttons.

Wouldn't you just love to make a big impact on your front door, maybe brighten up boring walls or create a lovely focal point above your fireplace! Our Ribbon Wreaths Workshop can accomplish all of that and more! Join us to make these amazing wreaths that are being sold online for up to $150! Oh my cuteness!!! Winter Floral Wreaths

Take those treasured fabric remnant and turn them into something wonderful! How about a new seasonal wreath to add to your home décor!? Or make as a holiday, birthday or housewarming gift!

By utilizing a variety of fabrics, fusible fleeces, and templates students will learn different flower and learn to create leaf designs. Using jewelry pliers we'll bend and twist thin metals to create vines that can be left or as is, or bedazzled with beautiful beads and jems on a 14" gold or silver ring to create your wreath.

Create two unique glass etched bottles as keepsakes or gifts complete with twinkle lights for the inside of each one!!! Lovely Mosaics

Come relax, learn and create a decorative glass gem tray! It’s the perfect gift or present to yourself! The glass gems used come in a variety colors. You'll also have the opportunity to paint your unfinished wood trays using popular Chalk Paint. Chalk Paint is the perfect paint for recreating new or reclaimed furniture, frames and other home décor items into beautiful pieces for your home! It's a latex based paint with added minerals and chalk. This combination makes for a super easy application and a unique finish!

Decoupage Workshop, Creative Sewing Studio

The Fun World Of Decoupage

Decoupage is a versatile, fun and accessible craft that folks of all ages can enjoy! By using items like magazine cut-outs, photographs, paper and fabric you can give furniture a new look, create jewelry, give items a new aesthetic and more! Each layer is sealed with multiple coats until the “stuck on” appearance disappears and the result looks like painting or inlay work.

Join us for a creative afternoon learning the techniques, supplies, tips and tricks. We'll be applying skills learned to create a lovely, fabric covered vase. All supplies will be provided, including a variety of vases and an assortment of pre-pinked fabrics. With the skills learned you will be able to decorate future items of your choice.

SuperDuo Beaded Wrap Bracelets

Ahhh nothing says spring like short sleeve shirts showing off jewelry, especially jewelry designed by you! Join us for this spring's jewelry designing workshop and create your very own SuperDuo wrap bracelet! Beautiful in its visual complexity, it's designed to be wrapped three times around the wrist to make a simple statement when worn alone or stacked with other bracelets. The beads are "Super Duo" Czech glass beads with a tiny Czech glass seed bead between each of the duos. The clasp is an ornate cast button which you will have several options to choose from.

Beginner Knitting

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit, but haven’t had the time, patience or skills? Well now’s your chance! In two afternoons, through hands on learning you’ll learn how to cast on, cast off and how to do the two stitches that are the basis of all knitting—knit and purl. We’ll talk about choosing the best yarn and needles for your project and the importance of yarn weight and gauge. Students will learn how to combine knitting and purling to make different textures while creating a ribbed scarf.

Leave With: Knitting needles, a few written resources, the knowledge you need to be able to do it on your own, and the start to ribbed scarf to show off your new talent!

Beginner Cross-Stitch

Cross-stitch is one of the oldest forms of embroidery and can be found around the world. Draped in history it has been passed down through the generations and has found a vast resurgence within the last decade.

Using the highest quality thread and linen, students will learn to count stitches, discuss which needles, threads and fabrics are best for their projects. Once stitched participants will have three color options and an array of buttons to choose from to "finish" their needlework piece into a sweet sunflower pincushion. Come enjoy the experience of seeing your small stitches transformed into an exquisite design.

Beaded Holiday Bottles

In this workshop students learn a couple different methods of beading as well as become familiar with a basic beading tools. By utilizing a pattern and a mathematical approach students will create a beaded bottle cover to enhance the appearance of a bottle of wine, bottle of champagne or even a candle! Whether it is being given as a hostess gift or sitting on your own table this beaded artwork is sure to impress! Beading can be as simple, funky or as elegant as you wish it to be. *Please note that this project may be more difficult for those with hand and vision limitations.
